HOW “PRINT YOUR OWN BUNCO.com” CAME TO BE…

Tara Reed created PrintYourOwnBunco.com in 2009. A professional artist since 2000, she began designing in the scrapbooking industry and in 2004, wandered out into the ‘wide world of art licensing’. Her designs have been on hundreds of products sold in stores. Everything from quilting fabric to rubber stamps. Ceramic dishes to coasters to coffee cups. Rugs, gift wrap and a whole lot more.
Able to add humor to almost any situation, Tara is a comfortable and entertaining public speaker who has appeared on live television, radio and instructional DVDs.
TAKING ART TO THE INTERNET
In 2008, Tara Reed started looking at the internet as a way to interact more and began sharing her knowledge of the art licensing industry with artists wanting to learn more. Building on her own experience with her business, her degree in marketing and background in sales, Tara has built a variety of products for artists, with www.ArtLicensingInfo.com as the hub of it all.
SO HOW DOES BUNCO FIT INTO THIS STORY?
From 1993 to 2000, Tara Reed was a stay-at-home mom who fully understood the need to get out with the girls from time to time. She believes it was that common need, shared by women across the country, that turned “Bunco!” into the universal cry in neighborhoods, churches and club houses across the country.
No matter how you spell it (BUNCO or BUNKO) the end result is the same: rolling dice, ringing bells, changing seats and the camaraderie that comes along with it.
One September day Tara was having breakfast with her friend Martha discussing Bingo. During the chat, Martha said, “You should design Bunco things. People are always playing Bunco.”
From that casual comment came an overwhelming compulsion to look more closely at Bunco and see if there was a need for what she could offer.
Understanding that there needs to be a volume of demand for products to make it to a retail store, Tara quickly realized that there could be “Bunco themed” products in traditional stores, but not “themed Bunco” – the stocking, costs and risk would be too great. But with digital products, it could be done – creating something new and unique that would give even the most uncreatively inspired Bunco player a chance to have cool, themed supplies!
Print-Your-Own Bunco Party Kits were born.

WHAT IS BUNCO ANYWAY?
12 players. Rolling Dice. Taking chances. Keeping score. Beyond a dice game of chance, Bunco gives women throughout the U.S. a reason to get out and have fun with neighbors and friends.
An estimated 17.4 million women in the U.S. have played bunco before, with 7 million playing regularly. (according to Procter & Gamble Co. ‘07)
